I am honored to serve as the Head of School at Fulford Academy, bringing a passion for education and leadership to this incredible community. My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University, followed by a Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University, and a Professional Master of Education from Queen’s University. Athletics Director, Senior Science, and Fitness


Hi! I am Shannon! I have been teaching for eight years, specializing in chemistry, biology, and physical education. I joined Fulford’s faculty in 2023 after teaching for a decade as a tenured professor at a college in the United States. Although I’ve taught college- and university-level courses in Newfoundland and Iowa, I now call Ontario home, and I love teaching high school English, Social Sciences, Humanities, Geography, and History at Fulford! My name is Erica Sands. For the past four years, I have been teaching social sciences at Fulford Academy, where I also coach curling, golf, and an art club. I bring more than 13 years of teaching experience across diverse educational settings, ranging from preschool to adult education. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in the Science of Teaching, both obtained from the State University of New York at Potsdam. Read more.

My name is Jocelyn Grant, and I have devoted twelve years to the field of education, with nine of those spent at Fulford Academy (formerly known as Merrick Prep), focusing primarily on mathematics and physics. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering, as well as a Bachelor of Education, all from the University of Ottawa. Read more.

I have been at Fulford Academy since 2006. I received B.Ed from Queen’s University, and while I mostly teach English these days, I also sometimes find myself teaching social studies. I have taught a range of subjects in the classroom over the years, ranging from ESL to family living to business tech to world religions and geography, both to online and in-person students.
