Math and Physics

My name is Jocelyn Grant, and I have devoted twelve years to the field of education, with nine of those spent at Fulford Academy (formerly known as Merrick Prep), focusing primarily on mathematics and physics. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering, as well as a Bachelor of Education, all from the University of Ottawa.

Before embarking on my teaching journey, I worked as an engineer in the fields of wastewater treatment and food processing. Afterward, I dedicated several years to raising my three children. Two of them are currently pursuing their studies at university, while my eldest has successfully obtained a Master’s degree in chemistry. During my engineering career, I found great joy in training others to operate new equipment, which ultimately motivated me to transition into teaching.

In addition to teaching, I am actively involved in the school’s extra-curricular activities, including organizing math contests, creating the school yearbook and coaching the volleyball, badminton and track and field teams. I live only a 15-minute drive away from Merrickville, and when I’m not at school or at home, you can usually find me out riding horses!
