My name is Christian Sine, and I recently completed my Master of Science for Teachers, specializing in Biology, at SUNY Potsdam. Prior to that, I earned my Bachelor of Science at Queen’s University, majoring in Life Sciences with a minor in Chemistry. Science has always been a passion of mine, and I enjoy teaching across the scientific disciplines. I also have a strong interest in mathematics, which provides a refreshing change of pace and allows me to connect problem-solving skills across different subjects.

I believe learning should be active, engaging, and enjoyable. Whether students are participating in a hands-on lab, working through a design challenge, or taking part in class discussions, I aim to keep them involved and comfortable taking risks with their learning. A sense of humour also has an important place in the classroom. When students feel relaxed and supported, they are more willing to ask questions, stay curious, and enjoy the learning process. One of my personal goals as a teacher is to spark interest in every student, even those who may not see themselves as “science” or “math” people.

Outside of school, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. During the warmer months, you can often find me on a golf course or playing pickleball. In the winter, I enjoy hockey and skiing. I bring that same energy into my teaching by incorporating movement, hands-on activities, and opportunities for students to learn by doing.


At home, I live on a small hobby farm with horses, cows, and hens, which certainly keeps life interesting. I also enjoy cooking and baking, especially exploring dishes from different cultures. Travel and food have helped me develop a strong appreciation for different perspectives, and I enjoy bringing that global awareness into my classroom whenever possible.
